The Assessment in Action research project contributes towards articulating a framework of Information Literacy skills in collaboration with campus communities that the Libraries can build upon.

Situating WASC Accreditation in the 21st Century: Redesign for 2012 and Beyond
WASC (Western Association of Schools & Colleges)
Published in Fall 2011, this document identifies five areas of institutional assessment. "A major component of the redesign is that institutions will be expected to demonstrate that their graduates have achieved the institution's stated level of proficiency at least in the following five areas stated in CFR 2.2a: written and oral communication, quantitative skills, critical thinking and information literacy.


VALUE Rubrics: Information Literacy

AAC&U (Association of American Colleges & Universities)

The VALUE rubrics were developed by teams of faculty experts representing colleges and universities across the United States through a process that examined many existing campus rubrics and related documents for each learning outcome and incorporated additional feedback from faculty. The rubrics articulate fundamental criteria for each learning outcome, with performance descriptors demonstrating progressively more sophisticated levels of attainment.
